A national ranking stop on the Irish Padel Tour landed at Padel54, and the club's courts were packed for it. Two days of Major-grade padel, players travelling from clubs across the island, and ranking points on the line in every match.
The Irish Padel Tour Major format doesn't leave much room to hide: round robin groups first, then a straight knockout for the ranking points that matter most this side of the season. From the first matches on Saturday morning it was clear the entries were strong, several of the country's top-ranked pairs among them.
Padel54's own courts held up to the occasion, backed by Cupra and Optima branding pitchside and a members' turnout that kept the café and sidelines busy from morning through the evening session. For a club that opened its doors only two years ago, hosting a Major is a real marker of where it now sits on the Irish padel map.
Ranking points and rivalries
The knockout stages delivered exactly what a Major should: tight scorelines, seeded pairs pushed to three sets, and a few upsets that shook up the national rankings. By the closing matches on Sunday, the crowd around the show court was three deep.
